It has my name on it!

said the little kid and he crossed his arms as in "there wont be any further discussion". We just agreed over a 5-foot-long wooden stick written all over in different colors for the price of one Quetzal. Equiped with the wooden sticks and an army of horse-taxis behind us our small group made its way up to the famous volcano named Pacaya, famous because it has been constantly erupting since the 1960s. It was quite a long hike uphill and when we finally got here we were exhausted, but happy to see one of the most amazing things nature can offer. The volcano is huge and there is gleaming lava-rocks coming out of two sides. We went up over a lake of cold Lava wo get a closer look and touch it with the stick - thats why we bought them. The heat is amazing, and when we climbed up to get a closer look a huge gleaming rock started falling down from the top and we took off running to not get hit by it.

After we got back we went straight away to a restaurant where a living member of the buena vista social club was suposed to be playing every wednesday night and there he was, I recognized him from the cd. He was very nice and I took a picture with him. He didnt even wait long to get things straight and play worlds famous chan chan as the third song. I went o bed early though because I wasnt feeling too good and I slept 11 hours straight like a rock.

Today we got our stuff together and took off with the chicken bus to Lake Atitlan, we had to switch buses 3 times to get there and the drivers where one more crazy than the other... it was funny though, because the local woman next to me was close to having a heart attack when the driver started again to overtake 3 trucks in a long streched curve, but I am kinda used to that kind of thing now and stayed calm. When we switched the second bus the door-helper, luggage-on-the-roof-thrower, money-collector and information guy in personal union jumped out of the bus at full speed to do two steps and grab on to the back of the bus indiana-jones-style to swing up on the roof and hand us down our bags while still moving. Amazing.
